Art That Celebrates Mom

We are so thankful for all of the love, work and support that we receive from our moms. My mother always encouraged me to be creative. In celebration of her, I created this wearable pin art. Here's how I made it:

Materials

Feel free to tailor the materials to fit your style and taste. The materials listed below, are available at most local craft stores.

• Craft Acrylic Paint
• ​Craft Glue
• Oven Bake Clay in Various Colors
• Clear Nail Polish
• Paint Brush
• Craft Rhinestones
• Faces, Flowers and Crowns Molds
• Pin Back
• ​Tooth Pick or Skewer
• Baking Tray

1. I pressed the clay into several different faces in the mold. 

2. I used yellow clay to create a background color for one of the designs. I made a ball out of the yellow clay and then pressed it flat with the palm of my hand.

3. After that, I used the skewer and my fingers to  sculpt each design,  I also added more clay to the nose and lips.

4. I created three different designs. I used the other molds to add more elements to each one. After placing the clay on the baking tray, I baked the clay according to the directions on the package. The clay cooled completely. 

5. The details of each pin was finished by adding the rhinestones and the acrylic paint. I also painted each design with clear nail polish and glued a pin back on the back.
